Prof. Zdenek Sofer
Will deliver a keynote lecture on: «Functionalization of MXene for energy storage and catalysis»
Prof. Zdenek Sofer is a tenured professor at the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague in the Czech Republic since 2019.
He earned his PhD at the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague, Czech Republic, in 2008. During his doctoral studies, he spent one year at Forschungszentrum Julich (Peter Grünberg Institute, Germany) and completed a postdoctoral stay at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
Prof. Sofer’s research interests focus on 2D materials, including crystal growth, chemical modifications, and derivatization. His research spans various applications of 2D materials, such as energy storage and conversion, electronics, catalysis, and sensing devices. Prof. Sofer has received several awards, including the Neuron Impuls Award in 2016 and the Award of the President of the Czech Science Foundation in 2019.
He serves as an Associate Editor of the FlatChem journal and has also acted as a guest editor for Small Methods and other journals. He has authored over 620 articles, which have garnered over 28,600 citations (with an h-index of 85).
